Hello everyone! Welcome to my website! My name is Maggie Kelly I am a twenty-one year old artist from northern Michigan. The art alias I currently use is Starbaby Creates. I use this name for social media accounts where I post my artistic endeavors.

 

I approach art making with a curiosity to learn and discover new things, both about the medium that I am using and about myself. I find that experimenting with different creative processes, techniques, and media allows myself to uncover a wide range of style in my art. I go through phases where I obsess over learning new medium. When I was a kid, like most, I drew with pens, pencils, and crayons. I decided that I wanted to become really good at drawing. When I was older, I discovered other 2-D art forms like collaging, painting, and print-making. In high school, I took Ceramics for 4 years. In 2022, I fully committed to teaching myself how to crochet. It outright consumed me. Anywhere I went I brought a bag of yarn and a hook with me. If I was watching TV, hanging out with friends, or had any sort of hands-free free time, I was crocheting. Last year, I decided I needed to learn how to sew. I bought a sewing machine and saved old clothes so I could learn the basics.

Now I'm committing myself to Digital Art.

My family has influenced me to become the artist that I am. Each person has a unique creative perspective and is constantly inspiring new ideas. One of my favorite things to do is hang out with my family and make something together. 

 

My philosophy in both art and life, as they are so closely related, is that as long as I am learning, creating, and  experiencing this world to the fullest, my soul can be at peace.
